Installing Lync on Windows

Overview

This post details how to install and use Microsoft Lync on a Windows computer.

Requirements

  • An Office 365 Faculty and Staff account
  • Access to Office 365 using Web Access
  • Windows operating system
NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Office 2010, you will be installing Lync 2010. If you are using Microsoft Office 2013, you will be installing Lync 2013.

Steps to Install Microsoft Lync

  1. Log in to your Office 365 account at http://login.microsoftonline.com/.
  2. Click Install Lync.

  3. In the Install Microsoft Lync page:
    1. Select English (United States) in the Language: drop down menu.
    2. Select your Windows operating system version.
    3. Click Install.
    NOTE: If you do not know where to find your Windows operating system version, click on the “Which Version?” link on the Office 365 downloads page
  4. Click Run in the Security Warning dialog box.
  5. Click Install.
  6. Click Yes.

  7. Click Close to complete the installation process.

Steps to Log In to Microsoft Lync

  1. In the Microsoft Lync Sign-In dialog box:
    1. Enter your CampusID e-mail address in the Sign-in address: field
    2. Enter your CampusID password in the Password: field
    3. Click Sign in

  4. Check the Agreement Box and then click Continue

Steps to Log In to Microsoft Lync

  1. In the Microsoft Lync Sign-In dialog box:
    1. Enter your CampusID e-mail address in the Sign-in address: field
    2. Enter your CampusID password in the Password: field
    3. Click Sign in
